Daily Ephesus Tour From Istanbul
In the morning, you will be picked up from your hotel and go to the Istanbul Airport. And, you fly to Izmir. Our tour guide will meet you when you land at the Izmir Airport and you will go to the ancient city of Ephesus.
Ephesus was an ancient port Greek city on the coast of Ionia and it was built in the 10th century. It was one of the most important Greek cities and the most important trading center in the Mediterranean region. It contains such grand public buildings as the impressive Library of Celsus, the theatre, and the Temple of Artemis.
Temple of Artemis, also known as the Temple of Diana was a Greek Temple dedicated to the goddess of Artemis. The great temple was built about 550 BCE and it was one of the seven wonders of the ancient world.
House of the Virgin Mary, is located on the top of a mountain which is 9 km ahead of Ephesus. According to the common belief, it is the place that Mary, the mother of Jesus, has spent her last days. Indeed, she may have come to the area together with Saint John to spread Christianity.
At the end of the tour, you will go to the Izmir Airport and fly back to Istanbul. You will be transferred to Istanbul Hotel.
