Tour Description
DAY 1: ISTANBUL
Welcome to Istanbul, Turkey. You will be transferred to your hotel and stay overnight in Istanbul.
DAY 2: ISTANBUL
In the morning, you will be picked from your hotel and go to the Hippodrome.
The Hippodrome, was
the social centre of Constantinople, capital of the Byzantine Empire. And it was
a public arena mainly used for chariot races. It was also home to gladiatorial
games, ceremonies and celebrations. Hippodrome functioned all in Roman,
Byzantine and Ottoman periods. The Hippodrome is known for its four monuments;
Serpent Column, Obelisk of Theodosius, Walled Obelisk and Statues of Porphyrios.
Hagia Sophia Museum, is
the most important Byzantine structure and one of the world’s great monuments. It
was built at Constantinople in the 6th century. It is the former Christian
cathedral, later an Ottoman mosque and
now a museum. Now, it is welcoming both local and foreign
visitors. (Closed on Monday)
Blue Mosque, also known as the Sultan Ahmed Mosque, was constructed in
the 17th century. It is one of the most important works of Ottoman history and
sone ignificant symbols of Istanbul. The mosque is known as the Blue Mosque
because of blue tiles surrounding the walls of interior design. (Closed on
Friday)
Topkapi Palace, was the political center
of the Ottoman Empire between
the 15th and 19th centuries. It was used for educational administrative and as
the art center of the state. It is now a museum that exhibits the imperial
collections of the Ottoman Empire. (Closed on Tuesday)
Grand Bazaar, is one of the largest and
oldest covered markets in the world which has lots of shopping
opportunities with its carpets, leather, jewellery, turkish delight, spices and
antique tiles.
(Closed on Sunday)
In the end of the tour, you will be transferred to
the Istanbul Airport and fly to the Izmir Airport. Then, you will be
transferred to Kusadasi hotel and stay overnight.
DAY 3: EPHESUS
In the morning, you will be picked from your hotel
and drive to Ephesus. The first place that you will visit is the ancient city
of Ephesus.
Ephesus, was an ancient port Greek city on the coast of
Inonia and it was built in 10th century. It was one of the most
important Greek cities and the most important trading center in the
Mediterranean region. It contains such grand public buildings as the
impressive Library of Celsus, the theatre, and Temple of Artemis.
Temple of Artemis, also known as the Temple of Diana was a Greek Temple dedicated to the goddess of Artemis. The great temple was built about 550 BCE and it was one the seven wonders of the ancient world.
House of the Virgin Mary, is located on the top of a
mountain which is 9 kms ahead of Ephesus.
According to the common belief, it is the place that Mary, the mother of
Jesus, have spent her last days. Indeed, she may have come
in the area together with Saint John to spread Christianity.
In
the end of the tour, you will be transferred to Kusadasi and stay overnight.
DAY 4: CAPPADOCIA
In
the morning, you will be picked from your hotel and drive to the Izmir Airport.
And, you fly to Cappadocia. The first place that you will visit is Goreme
Open-Air Museum.
Goreme Open-Air Museum, is an enchanting open-air museum and an example of the cultural
heritage of humanity. Fairy chimneys seem mysterious and cities that extend
many meters deep into the earth are all enveloped in an atmosphere that is
ethereal and unworldly.
Uchisar
Castle, is situated at the highest point
in Cappadocia. There are many rooms connected to each other via stairs, tunnels
and narrow passages. It also have most magnificent panoramic view of the
magical fairy chimneys and towns.
Pasabag
(Monks Valley), contains some of the most striking fairy chimneys in Cappadocia
with twin and even triple rock caps. In ancient times, the hermits of
Cappadocia have distanced themselves from the world in this place.
Avanos
(Pottery), is famous for the pottery, silk, wool and
carpet weaving, wine cultivation and agriculture. This magnificent place hosting countless
civilizations reflects the visitors both natural and human-made masterpieces
today.
Devrent
Valley, is also
known as the Pink Valley or Imaginary Valley. Unlike other valleys, it was
never inhabited. It is famous for its lunar landscape. The fairy chimneys are
strange with their look. They have many different shapes like human figures and
animals.
In
the end of the tour, you will be transferred to your hotel and stay overnight.
DAY
5: CAPPADOCIA
After breakfast, you will be picked up from your hotel by our tour guide. The first place that you will visit is Cavusin Village.
Cavusin Village, is an old Greek village in Cappadocia. There is a 5th century
church of Saint John the Baptist, situated in the old village part.
Ortahisar
Castle, offers an amazing panorama over the fairy chimneys. It is one of the
best viewpoints in Cappadocia.
Kaymakli Underground City, is the widest underground city, while the deepest one is Derinkuyu
Ungerground City. Miraculously well protected and maintained structure is a
member of UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Pigeon Valley, is one of the best spots for walking in Cappadocia Region. Pigeons had been used for food and fertilizing the inefficient soil in this region. Their rocky homes can still be found throughout the region.
In
the end of the tour, you will be transferred to the airport and fly back to
Istanbul.
DAY
6: ISTANBUL
You
have free time untill your flight. You will be transferred to the Istanbul
Airport and fly back to your home.
